Germany, for all their technological, musical, and environmental superiority, sure have a funky university schedule. There's a national holiday canceling school literally more Thursdays than not, and due my program's Berlin excursion and Pentacostal Break being next to each other, I just got done with over two weeks of vacation! For Pentacost, my friend Katie Australia and I did blind booking to Croatia. Germanwings.com is this great site where you pick a broad topic (we chose beaches, which had ~15 possible cities) and pick your travel dates, and they will book you a flight for a random city! You pay for your ticket and THEN find out where you're going. We got Rijeka, immediately googled where the heck that was, found out it was Croatia, and jumped up and down in excitement for a solid five minutes! :]

Our hostel room for the week. We were the only two in a five bed room, so nice! |

In front of the National Theater. Katie and I were eating lunch in this courtyard and I mentioned that this building looked similar to the Opera House I went to in Prague in February. Katie then read our free Rijeka guide's info section on the Theater and it specifically mentioned that those two buildings were designed by the same guy!! |

Cool frames in the free Rijeka maritime history museum that was entirely in Croatian and Italian. Katie and I... looked at the pictures. :] |

An amazing outdoor market place that puts the Farmer's Market to shame! There was an entire building just for all the fresh seafood. It smelled insane. |

The first torpedo was launched in Rijeka, Croatia. |

Oh, Rijeka Airport. You look like a motel from the 70s. Everyone basically gets their own balcony XD |
